BEHAVIOUR POLICY

For smooth and safe running of sessions and Scouting events the Group have adopted the following Behaviour Policy.

All young people are:

  • to be respectful towards Leaders, adult helpers and each other

  • to look after the headquarters, all Scouting equipment and to respect other people's property

  • to treat others as they would expect to be treated themselves

The '3 Strike Rule':

Any child found to be disruptive, disrespectful or a nuisance will be asked to amend their behaviour and will be given a warning. If a child receives 3 warnings in one session, on receiving the third warning the Section Leader will telephone the parent(s)/guardian who will be asked to collect their child.

The GSL will be informed of this action.

The child will then be required to apologise to the person(s) concerned in order to return the following week. If the problem continues at subsequent sessions a meeting will be called involving the child, parent(s)/guardian, Section Leader and the GSL to discuss what action needs to be taken to rectify the matter. Exclusion from the Group may be discussed at this meeting.

The Behaviour Policy applies across all sections of the Scout Group and has been agreed by the Group Executive and the Leadership Team.

You will be required to acknowledge the behaviour policy when filling in the membership forms.
